Learn the basic principles behind Moiré images and Scanimations. Then, make and print out your own!
Moiré images can be thought of as spatial analogs of FM radio. By overlaying two striped images (one signal-modulated), the viewer effectively decodes the hidden signal.
Scanimations reveal every sixth column of an image at any given time. They enable a 6-frame animated gif to be played simply by sliding a striped transparency over an underlying image.
