Hi. Can you tell me about the size of the balloon you used? What was the burst diameter? The people at Kaymont told me I would need a 1500 gram balloon for a payload around 4 lbs, but I thought I saw that you used a 30 gram balloon. They’re saying your assumptions about rise rate are totally wrong, so you didn’t achieve that altitude.

I used the Kaymont 600g, and used the “jumbo” sized tank from Party City, which is their largest tank, and I only used half the helium, if that, to a fill diameter of over 5 feet. Total weight was around 2 pounds, and estimated burst altitude was 89,775 feet.

My rise ascent would have been around 500 ft/min approx. Took just under 3 hours to reach maximum altitude before bursting for this launch. More info at my site if needed.
