Post Amount of helium

Hi

I’m trying to figure out how much helium is needed to get enough lift from the balloon.
Take this balloon: http://cgi.ebay.com/Red-Weather-Balloon-6-Meteorological-100-Gram-New-NR-/170549705096?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b58df988#ht_2255wt_1141

Is it 50/50 air and helium, or how do you figure it out?

Thanks!

Its all helium, not a mixture. So if you went to any party supply store you should be able to use their smallest tank size to fill a 100g balloon.

If in doubt, just get the next size up.

I used a 5-6 ft tall tank just to be safe and ended up only using half for a 600g balloon. Should have launched two!!!

Edit

CORRECTION!
Often times when you buy helium at a party supply store the gas mixture is not pure helium. The percentages are something like 90%-94%. Therefore you’re gonna wanna go to a welding supplier which would sell you pure (or at least 99%) helium. I know this may not seem like a giant difference, but Ive done it both ways and you can recognize a difference. This is science after all and alot of this project is based off of luck, so whatever you can do to get those odds up is a help!
Hope this helped.
